I don’t think so. It was done a long time ago and some of the side panel structure was cut out to install the windows. I think it was a provincial government forestry truck.
With the number of dents in the wheel wells and rear doors I’m sure a hand grenade had gone off in the back lol.

That’s an excellent candidate. I have one similar (post 53) but mine is Custom trim and didn’t come with buckets. Very nice!

I think I’ve seen six or seven 1968 swb big blocks on this forum over the years. Not many around that’s for sure. And of those, not many (if any) are that highly optioned.

Does yours have a 6-lug dana 60 trailing arm setup?

Re: Rarest truck

The rarest truck would most likely be a GMC. Take a loaded '68 SWB CST big block, as mentioned above. I have had one of those, minus automatic transmission. Two identical trucks were ordered by two brothers and they wanted 3spd manual. That actually made those trucks more rare, I'd think, since you normally see an automatic in a bells & whistles truck. But to find the same truck in a GMC would be most rare. A loaded '68 SWB Super Custom big block would be extremely rare

Re: Rarest truck

My first truck was a Triple Black 1971 Custom Deluxe with factory buckets. It had a 427 Tri-Power & 3 on the tree. I bought it in 1978 from a guy that had a 1968 427 Tri-Power Vette. His wife did not like the power in the Vette so he switched motors ! I remember him telling me that "nobody beats him off the line at stoplights" ! Truck had 14,000 miles on it. I sold the tri-Power and bought a friends Grampa's totaled 1972 6cyl with 42,000 miles put that in the truck. A few years later sold the 6cyl to a friend. Then, sold that truck with 17,000 miles for $800. It was pretty rare with the Tri-Power but not original. All those preceding trucks in this thread are awesome !

Back to our 70 GMC Sierra Grande. How many BB 1/2 ton special paint short beds have you seen with U01 marker lamps?

Re: Rarest truck

1/2T with clearance lights is rare, no matter what. Special paint probably means a government truck, so all the more rare.

The 9' step side trucks are on a 133" chassis which is the same as a Longhorn. The step side 9' bed trucks just weren't labeled as a Longhorn because they weren't fleetside from all the stuff I've read.

9' stepsides weren't labeled Longhorns because they weren't Longhorns. 😉
