64-66 hubcap orange/red center paint?

Just finished a little resto on these ‘64 caps for my truck.

Wondering if anybody has a paint code or even a rattle can color that resembles the original orange/red that was on them?

Thanks for the link Bruce, for some reason reply notifications weren’t getting to my email, but I ended up using that same spray paint. Turned out great.

Great job on the caps, they look sharp! curious to know your technique to get the clean lines of the red paint.

Re: 64-66 hubcap orange/red center paint?

Thanks gents, for the edges I ended up using 3M striping tape on the circle and the bowtie I cut out of painters tape with a scalpel. Took a few attempts to get the circle looking half decent but by the 4th cap you get the hang of it and then likely never have to do it again lol.

Thanks for sharing, very helpful. I guess all we need now is a pic of your rig with the finished caps mounted.

Yes, they did! Nice work. What did you use for the white base color?

For sure, the wheels are another story tho, gotta sand a bunch of paint runs and take another crack at them.

The white is the Ivory color mixed up in PPG single stage, I had some left over from the bumpers and grill.

Got the wheels sorted lastnight. I really need to do a thread with some more pics and info on the build, wouldn’t have happened without the help from this forum.

Re: 64-66 hubcap orange/red center paint?

So Nice! Great job on the whole thing. The plain sided, single color, painted bumper shortbed thing has been my favorite look for awhile now. I'm frustrated that a worthwhile candidate has never come my way ...well, an affordable one anyway.

Re: 64-66 hubcap orange/red center paint?

Thanks guys. I couldn’t agree more Bruce, there probably isn’t many people that restore these trucks to the economy trim level but that’s what I like so that’s what it got. Survivor trucks are definitely fetching some crazy $$, but that’s good for you too haha.
