Re: Truckseats Photobook

Here are a few photos of my seat and my story...

Ordered/paid on May 13. Cover received July 3. Several e-mails sent on status, received one very dalayed response that really made so sense.

Seat cover mailed from Truck World in Springfield, MO. Due to the lack of response from Truck Seats and the need for foam, I called Truck World. It turns out that Truck Seats is simply a middle man for Truck World, the actual manufacturer of the seat covers.

The seat cover: Unbelievable quality, heavy correct grain vinyl, good color, excellent cloth, taped, top stitched seams. In sort, better than just about any repro cover I have purchased since I started working on/restoring Chevys in 1982.

Seat Foam: Due to the lack of response from Truck Seats on completing an order, I ordered seat foam from GMC Paul. Something like $434 shipped to my door. They looked good, but felt soft, but you never know until they are installed.

Bought a donor frame and restored it from a wrecking yard--$25.

The seat buns were perfect and are actually quite firm. The seat cover fit and installed perfectly. Here is the final result:

Aside from the near 2 month delivery time and lack of response from Truck Seats, I couldn't be happier with the result. It is green, but it's a green truck, and as my kids say, "Embrace Gumby Truck's greeness."

Re: Truckseats Photobook

I received my seat foam, seat cover, carpet, headliner, kick panels, door panel bottoms and door panels all in a timely manner... Everything was absolutely top notch, the seat cover took the longest because it was made to order.. It took several weeks, but he told me that up front. Tim was very responsive and I could not be happier with the quality and customer service.

Juanito, you gotta wait in line on made to order items.

Re: Truckseats Photobook

I have ordered from Tim twice now. I have had no issues. The covers are top notch and the service was excellent. As far as being a "middleman" for truck world he has stated that earlier in this thread. It's not like its new information. All of the vendors on this site are a middleman in some form. Even GMCPauls. If you have a problem with Tim's service you should post a thread in the reviews section not a thread meant for showcasing the covers.

Re: Truckseats Photobook

I'm not seeing an issue either, I havn't ordered anything yet, but if he told you upfront that it would be several weeks then why the complaint especially when your seat looks FREAKING awesome. I understand getting anxious as i am the same way. I have ordered my rims and tires 3 weeks ago and i am about to go nuts because they are not here. Sometimes we forget how fortunate we are!

Re: Truckseats Photobook

I am sorry for the misunderstanding--this wasn't meant to be a complaint, but rather to explain my seat restoration and how my seat came to be covered with the Truck World seatcover with GMC Paul seat buns--both are fantastic. I would have ordered it all from Truck Seats but the lack of response did not make that possible, that's all.

No complaint, simply what happened--nothing more.

BTW--thanks for all the PM's regarding the truck, I appreciate it.

I do certainly understand your frustration with your order and do apologize for your inconvenience. I have stated many times that I do not personally build these seat covers and do certainly at times share your frustration in the time that it takes to receive them. That is something that is out of my hands. I can say they are getting much more efficient at Truckworld. Larry and I build many stock and custom seat covers together and do all we can to make our customers happy while delivering a superior product. As far as communication on the foam goes, that is on me and you have my apology for our lack of communication. I am very glad Paul was able to handle your order in a timely manor for you. I still work full time as a Union Pipefitter at a nuclear facility and do my best to respond to everybody in a timely manor. Thank you for your feedback and if we can make it right in the future don't hesitate to give us a shot.

These seat covers are made to order as well and to be honest we haven't built a whole lot of them yet to be able to provide a picture. We are working hard to be able to offer older and newer covers. Thanks for your understanding.

Right on, and no problem. You can bet you'll be the only one I order my other two seat covers from. We'll just line up the foam order at the same time and get it all done at once!

It is a Saddle Super Bench or better known as the "Nacho Seat" around here. It is saddle houndstooth with a saddle vinyl border.

Thanks for your patience. I have been on vacation.

Check with SMS Fabrics. If they have the material we can get it built for you.

Re: Truckseats Photobook

If you ever do a white with a green or brown hounds tooth, hope the owner will post some pics. The one thing me and my wife have not agreed on yet was the upholstery, but after seeing this picture, we agree that is what we will do.
