Plain ole Hugger Orange, one of Chevrolets finest IMO.

Wanted to stay 'period correct' ya know. lol

Just sprayed the clear, did everything in gloss, figured if I want the floor matt finish it'll be a quick & easy spray later.

Put a nice skid mark under the clear that'll be there forever too.
No big, the floor will no doubt get pretty scratched up anyway.

Pics aren't so great under the shop lights, sorry.

Same thing, I did it in sections to keep each job (section) at a more managable level.

Man... if the picture color is accurate, it really POPs. What color orange is that? The rest of the truck going to get that?

It's basic Hugger Orange.

If the sun's out, I'll get a couple pics of it outside, looks a lot different in daylight.

Correct, the rest of the truck gets the same paint.

Orange Peel, Orange POP...

Re: Project: Agent Orange

Are you going to stiffen or box the frame any to keep it from flexing when offroad?

No, going with a full cage to cure that, possibly even a front hoop.

Looks good VT. Do you think the lizard skin would look right as a re-texture on the original roof? Mine needs redoing but I'm not sure how I'm going to go about it.

No, not so much.

Tough call, I don't think anybodies come up with a solution for that yet.

I wonder if it could be done the same way as on drywall or ceilings. Get a spray gun set up to splatter and then roll over it to flatten it out after a partial set or cure. Just a thought.

If the factory woulda coated things like this, our restorations would be so much less work !!

Can you imagine ?!?!?!?

Great job!

Re: Project: Agent Orange

Getting rid of the factory hood hinges, found a better option right here on the board.

Offered by Porterbuilt, check it out!

Should do a great job of clearing the way for the front cage.

So, uh, what holds the hood open with those? No springs...

EDIT: I can't figure out what the plate in the last pic is either. Been a long Monday.

Re: Project: Agent Orange

You can use gas struts from a 94-96 impala ss or caprice. I used them on my 97 and it worked like a charm...

Seems like porterbuild is send alot of product to Vermont......
