Question Intake leaking, warped head?

Anyone know a simple way to check a head for warping? I put a 350 in my 68 with a eldebrock torquer 2 intake and new eldebrock carb but it was leaking around the front left corner and i couldn't get it to seal so I put the quadrajet intake back on with an adapter for my eldebrock and now it seems to be leaking around the middle of the same side of the intake that was leaking before, right around the egr valve on the quadrajet intake. Spraying starting fluid revs the engine up in that area, could the egr valve be leaking and causing it? I would think that would just be in the exhaust system? So confused so any help will be appreciated.
