Re: Dave kindig Chevy blazer

I agree. I question a lot on it, too. First, why didn't they check with me before going ahead with anything?? It would be a nice Blazer if it was complete. But, it sucks because they left the tin cover off under the steering column. OMG, what were they thinking? I wouldn't pay more than $65k because of that. Like I said, they should have checked with me. I would have advised they chromed one and installed it. That's how I always did my custom builds back when I was hot and heavy into it. But that was before the internet and cable/satellite TV expanded programming. Mostly, I think they should have given me the show and called it "Tim's Rides".

I like Kindig's show more than some. But I think most all of us would prefer to see more building and less attempts at humor and ridiculous arguing and stupid antics on all the shows.
Finally Ass Monkeys has calmed down some and it's a better show for it. IMO.

Re: Dave kindig Chevy blazer

I can also vouch for the Kindig crew, I've met a several of them a few times at shows here and they are all willing to talk to anyone, kids, whom ever. No douchey attitudes, nice folks.
That's a nice Blazer, maybe not the exact way I'd want it, but it sure would look nice in my garage.

Does anyone know what gauges they are running in this? I want to run factory gauges on my LS.

Real nice, I like it a lot, I would be proud of that work if I did it. And they do seem like nice guys, glad to hear they are.

But... here it comes! You can smoke a cigar in my truck... something had to be better about my truck... I'm just that way!!!

Re: Dave kindig Chevy blazer

I haven't seen this episode yet but I have seen episodes with the blazer lurking in the back ground.

I think they do a great job on just about every vehicle.and there is a few they knocked outa the park.
Full out customs isn't usually my thing but I'm not gonna knock it.

It looks to me that the blazer don't have any seat belts...hmmm, just a observation.

Re: Dave kindig Chevy blazer

I was kinda disappointed in them when they whacked the '49/'50 Suburban up and made a uni-body pickup out of it.

Re: Dave kindig Chevy blazer

Yea well for 75k it has to have SOMETHING wrongy with it.

Man thats custom work, you do anything by hand there is bound to be a flaw somewhere.

I can see the bug speck in the paint under the wheel well.
sheesh!

I was disappointed too, that I didn't own it.

Top quality builds and good guys to talk to. This was from a magazine article a few years ago regarding costs
"We have many people asking about starting prices for Kindigit work: Their shop rate is $65.00 per hour plus materials. An average build at our shop starts at $250K depending on the condition of the vehicle and what components you would like to upgrade to. Feel free to give Kevin a call here at the shop Monday – Friday 9-5 (MST) to discuss your project further."

Blazer for 75K? I'd say they cut some corners and hours based on the quality of work they normally do.

Yes, please!!!!

More likely they took a paper loss because the only person willing to go 250k minimum for that truck would be the guy who had the vision and money to hire Kindig to build it fresh in the first place.

If Kindig built it for a "shop truck" or for his own desire, no way it would ever sell for what he had in it. Somebody got a steal at 75k if it really does take a quarter million worth of parts and labor to build it up.

Re: Dave kindig Chevy blazer

That blazer turned out great. White interior looks good but too much maintenance for me. Pretty sure the original owner of the blazer was on the board here somewhere. I think the green was an Isuzu Color. I'll definitely be borrowing some ideas for mine.
