No More Garage Queen

At least not for this summer. I have been preserving this 41,000 original mile 67 for to long. I intend to drive it all summer!!! I hate the thought of it being out in the rain and getting more miles on it, but I did not buy it to just sit and I just hate the thought of it sitting any longer. ENJOY the pics. She is a original 283 with two speed powerglide. Except for the rims and tires and the green mirror, shes all their, right down to the engine tie downs and exhaust system. Found this one down in North Carolina some years back.

Re: No More Garage Queen

great looking truck, I have a couple of classics, and none of them spend time under cover, collecting dust to ensure that the future generation enjoys them, I will never buy a vehicle to be just another person to ensure that the vehicle stays original and collects no additional miles.
Have a GREAT summer, hope to see you at woodward!

Re: No More Garage Queen

That is one sweet truck!

Similar thing here...just not quite as nice as yours.
I picked up a '68 396 two-barrell Custom Camper C-20 last year with only 41,000 miles. but it had been neglected...no rust, just bad wheel cylinders, original hoses, rotted wood in bed, etc.
I thought about how rare and unused it was and thought about just taking it right back to original, but then I came to my senses and reminded myself that it isn't a Chevelle or Camaro. I've found a lot of help here on this board.
I just finished putting disc brakes up front and I'm in the process of retiring the two-barrel now-I am replacing it with a correct '68 cast-iron high-rise and a new thermal-choke Quadrajet so it'll still look bone-stock. I've got 45,000 on it now, but it won't be a daily driver that racks up the mileage anyway.

I want it to retain the look of an original survivor, with all the new mods, too.

Drive it and enjoy John. The miles will do more good than harm to the truck.

Re: No More Garage Queen

The paint is original. It was faded and chalky. What you see now is the best I could do with cleaning and buffing. (PUT 200 more miles on today)
