Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...

yes that last photo looks way better. gm has just fallen out of the market as far as design.. there body lines just suck.. what i mean is look at the side of the knew truck. see how the rear mok step fender is at an angle it dosnt flow. and the side windows are way lower than the box and the hood again breaking up the body line.. next woud be the side trim it only apears on the cab doors not the fenders and box.. break up break up break up.. the cargo crap on top only makes it worse.. now look at that 68 the body line runs all the way from the grill to the tail lights. the windows are even with a dominant body part such as the hood and box. and the trim goes from front to back. body lines are all broken up on new chevys these day and they dont seem to getting any better. i am a dihard chevy man but if you look at some of the chrysler products out there such as the magnum and charger there body lines are much smoother and nicer.. same with the ford pickups.. i no i no its a ford and a dodge but what happened to chevys designers.. they are missing the boat.. when the price of muscle cars have just gone through the roof and gm engineers keep trying to redesign the vw "thing" there is somthing rong... it is disheartning

Unhappy Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...

if the price is based on its appearance it should be cheap, real cheap.

It is much better than the upside-down bumble-bee looking front end on the previous years trucks and colorado's.

What were they thinking when they put the grille and everything on upside down?

This new one looks much better to me:

after 2002... Chevy trucks got ugly.. and they're getting uglier. *shiver*

One good thing about it... doesn't make me want to sell my 01 and upgrade (if you want to call it that). LOL

Had the pleasure of visiting GM Design last year and the only things that where not "covered up" for our viewing pleasure was the 07 pickups....back then I just about wanted to puke.....now that the cat is out of the bag feel free to join me by the crapper..... Dont know what they are thinking

Re: Well, It looks like our trucks can only increase in value...

Well here's my story, I own a 2004 silverado 4x4 1500 crew cab. It's actually dark grey, and looks a lot like the one pictured in this thread. At the time they started coming out, it was but ugly to me too, however, at the time I owned a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Offroad. Well, making a long story short, I love my Chevy. Still not ecstatic about the bodystyle, but I got it at 0% for 72 months, and it gets about 6mpg better than the dodge. The dodge had a better front suspension for offroading, (solid front axle), but the Chevy is an everyday driver, and there is no way that I could afford to drive that Dodge at 12mpg. Now god willing, in 5 years, when I'm 6 years away from retiring, and everything I own now will be paid off, I plan on getting me a Diesel 4x4 crew cab truck. At that time I'll decide which of the big three to buy as they all have a decent diesel rig IMHO, but I'm going to be leaning toward GM, unless they really go downhill that bad, but my point is that for an everyday driver/workhorse, what most people look for is reliablity. Styles seem to grow on people after you see several hundred thousand of the new ones, then the older bodystyles start to age, and so far Chevy's have always aged gracefully. One more thing, used Chevy's seem to bring more money than the other two.

I see a poor man's escalade (caddy truck) in this new design. Maybe it is just me. I want to see the interior.
