I found a really nice truck for Iowa

-
I looked at this truck this morning and it is exceptional for spending it's life in Iowa. This is a true barn find (well actually a shed, which is good because it had a concrete floor). It's a 1970 C-20 350/TH350 that has been setting for quite a few years and has had the slide in since it was new. The owners put it outside a while back to clean it up and sell it. Odometer shows 96k+ miles. The inside of the camper is near mint condition. Owner is asking around $3500 for it. I took a lot of pictures and had trouble selecting the ones I wanted to post. The worst spot on it is below the toolbox door. It has a wood bed floor and from below I can't see any bad spots in it. (I took my cardboard creeper and trouble light with me)..

It will take a couple more posts to get the pics up.

And the best til last.... A new take off tailgate! It has some paint flaking off on the bottom corner and the dark spots on the front is where a Raccoon pooped on it up in the rafters.... The rest is just dirt.

OMG..... dibs on the gate if you buy and sell the gate Leon!

So are you going to try and buy this one? $3500 to me sounds like a fair price for a one owner original truck.

If you decide to pass, let me know!

I would be interested in the gate also. Blackbeauty are you looking for one with the holes for the trim or without? I've got a take off the has the upper and lower trim holes that I was going to weld up, but I would prefer not to....
(pictures are in my Crewcab thread).

It's actually an intercom between the truck and the camper... how cool is that!

Rob, I will keep that in mind and we'll see what Leon can come up with. I'm on the fence at the moment as to trim or no trim, but this will help to make my decision for me.

Man, what a nice find. If i could find a rig like that i would restore it to useable condition & USE IT!
I love the old campers they are cool as heck. I have a '73 Airstream Argosy 20footer i have been fixing up for the last 2 years. Almost ready to do the strip & paint.
Grab it & keep it rolling..........there ain't many of them left.

If the tailgate looks like that I'll almost bet the camper was put on whan it was new.If that's the case and it's been kept indoors all these years, chances are the bed is pristene. It looks like a great truck, hope you get it.

Re: I found a really nice truck for Iowa

I dont care what part of the country you are from, that is a great, solid original truck; period!! Not only is the price right but it has that awesome camper on it as well. If I were you and had the money it would already be in my driveway. Not only that but I would be sitting at the table of the camper with maps of the U.S. planning my road trip I would take it on. I love old trucks and I love camping, so you basically found my dream deal!
