*UPDATE 5/24/11 PG. 2*

Just picked this up today it's a 71 c/10 deluxe long bed 350 auto. Bought it from the original family that bought it new and drove it home about a hour at hwy speeds. 88k miles on it. Plans for now are new tires, wood bed floor, and lower it. Here are some pics let me know what ya think.

Re: Picked up a 71 chevy today

Needs both outer rockers and a small patch on the left inner where it meets the floor but everything else is solid

How is it under the hood. The Edelbrock sticker and white letter tires make me wonder what else has been done.

Nice honest looking truck for sure.

its got the original motor, but has been rebuilt nothing crazy just freshened up, with edelbrock intake, and carb, some chrome and headers. i got all the original stuff with it minus the carb, and manifolds. i plan on refurbing the air cleaner, and valve covers and reinstalling them to give it more of an original look.

here are some pics

Looks like you have a good base to start on whatever type of build you want to do...one owner vehicle is a big plus too in respect to knowing the maintenance / repair history of the truck.

Keep us posted on your project.

Re: Picked up a 71 chevy today

Thanks guys been working on the wiring some for the taillights they had spliced in a trailer plug and did a crappy job. I've taken the rear harness out cleaned it all up, repaired a couple spots, and rewrapped it. Now I just got to clean my grounds, put the new bulbs in and hope I have rear lights.

Re: Picked up a 71 chevy today

ok im having some trouble with the rear lights, when they work they are either real dim, or the wrong bulb works, which seems to be a ground issue. ive cleaned both of the grounds behind the bedside marker lights, but that didnt help any, anyone have any ideas.
