Re: Misfits garage 69 short bed build

I don't see how it could be scripted on an Interstate. Glad nobody was hurt. Scott should be fired and in jail for endangering that many people-and he didn't care at all. Watching the bed roll around made me cringe. I would have strapped both better just to go down the block, much less the Interstate. Why did they take the bed back?

I watch that show, but I like it less and less. I liked Tom on Gas Monkey, but there is a reason he got fired. Jordan too. I think Thomas needs to go back to what he was doing and save the headaches of dealing with the others.

Maybe, but with all the stupid stuff they do I am close to not watching any more. I don't think that is the desire of the TV people-they kinda want the audience. If it weren't for Thomas, I would have already been gone. I like some of the stuff he finds.

Count Customs, Gas Monkey, and misfits, are all getting out of control its about there glory and not enough about building the cars. I want to see more car details than i do about there stupid stunts. You see them purchase the vehicle and then at the end of the show you see it finished. Not too many details in between.

If it was my shop, someone's getting fired. That kind of complacency is unacceptable. They complain about bottom lines and trying to make money, I don't buy it!
Can we have a moment of silence for the cab please?

Re: Misfits garage 69 short bed build

I have felt that it was staged from the first time I saw it on Instagram a few days ago.
I watched the episode last night on the DVR. I feel dumber for wasting my time on these shows. But in the end, I know it's just for entertainment and selling advertisements.

It sucked to see the cab get destroyed. Yes a moment of silence is in order.
I kinda think it had to be a stunt.
Honestly, the way they had it set on the trailer the rockers were going to get damaged anyway.
I hauled my cab and bed to a local shop about 20 miles from home. I used no less than 12 straps.....LINK

I know most of the crap on these shows is scripted but what else am I gonna watch? It's much better than watching the bacholer or dancing with the stars....lol plus some of the cars and trucks they build are nice and it's fun to see the finished product.

Re: Misfits garage 69 short bed build

This show and Fat and Furious are starting to get hard to watch. Fast N Loud is starting to get away from the builds but it's entertaining to me still.

As far as the truck build, the trailer deal was definitely staged. I'm interested in seeing how it turns out but no way will it be a $40k truck.

I haven't really liked any of their decisions on their builds. Tom is about the only guy I like and feel he played a better role on FNL. Here the whole crew appear to be complete idiots. Pretty sure if Thomas came to buy one of my vehicles I'd ask him to leave, I don't like his tactics.

How much are you looking to get for this $500 car? I'd smack him!

Re: Misfits garage 69 short bed build

Well, I watched the conclusion last night. Not impressed. They carbed the LS motor. Didn't look like they painted the inside of the bed. Junky steering wheel. Etc. Then they just sold it to another car dealer. If they truly wanted their name out there, why not keep it and sell it on better terms? Earlier Thomas allegedly makes like $16k on the Olds with no real work, but settles for $5k on the truck for all the work? I don't understand them at all.

I thought the exact same thing. However I would be doing cartwheels if I got that much money for a truck that wasn't worth anywhere near that amount.

Re: Misfits garage 69 short bed build

Yeah, the suckers on these shows that they find to buy these thrown together cars and trucks is amazing. No way that truck was worth anywhere near what they 'say' they sold it for. Same with that 67 Chevelle they sold for $50k. If they got $50k for that, mine should be worth $100,000, and that Olds price was crazy

I believe all the money that changes hands on these shows is all inflated just to make the show more exciting. I wish they showed what they were really buying and selling these vehicles for.

Same here! I had recorded it on the DVR and was watching it around 10pm, when my wife and daughter were already asleep. I though I was gonna be in trouble for sure!
