Re: cheyenne-10 & super emblem location

I'd say the fender doesn't need to come off, but the Cheyenne badge does. Removing the inner fender makes it much easier to remove the badge.

I have heard that but it seems like there's more pain with the inner, like with the heater hoses on the right side? I never done either, so its all a mystery to me. Plus I want to get my dust shields in and the fender 100% has to come off for that!

Speaking of which, pjmoreland could you take a look at my photo in my Rebuilding / Installing Hinge Pillar to Fender Seal thread (post #12)?

Re: cheyenne-10 & super emblem location

Hey pjmoreland, you mentioned it is a nice idea to pull the clip to get to my seals but if I was to go that route - would we be able to get to the Cheyenne emblem with the whole clip? Which I think means the inner fenders stay on.

Sorry if that is a stupid question, I just don't know these things.

Re: cheyenne-10 & super emblem location

You'd definitely be able to get to the emblems with the front clip removed and the inner fenders still installed. The rear of the emblems are covered up by the cab, and the cab would be out of the picture.

Sweet, I hate being so ignorant - thank you.

Actually, back to just the fender route - I don't want to be messing with my AC connections and bits to get the clip off.

Re: cheyenne-10 & super emblem location

My brother's paint & body guy stopped by just after I had taped/marked holes for my super badge. So the passenger side is drilled and mouted!

Then he went over to the driver's side, which is still on and said I'll get this one drilled now. I reported, well I am not ready to pull that fender. He said, no problem I'll eyeball it. Just give me your tape, pencil, ruler. Gee, so glad he came by!

Well done. I see so many “super” emblems oriented wrong at car shows. “Super” always aligns to the left. Great job.

Re: cheyenne-10 & super emblem location

Thank you, getting help here in the forums insured that it was done properly. I also was "super" lucky my brother's body/paint guy popped into his shop for a visit.

He really did impress me when he did the driver's side with the fender still on the truck. Drilling into my truck was freaking me out and in the end I avoided it! LOL!
