I rode in a 64 Impala SS dual quad 409 4 gear and 4.56 rear car when I was 15
back when it was new. Planted my butt into that passenger seat!! Smoked em' all the way thru 3rd. That started my quest for more and more power. Had a 67 hemi GTX for awhile, a 70 Chevelle LS6 and eventually a 2006 Charger Daytona with the 5.7 hemi. The old 67 hemi was brutal and the newer hemi more refined. I'd luv to drive a new Challenger with the hellcat 707hp mill but I don;t think my ticker could handle it! LOL!!

Re: Hemi anyone? 6.1/ 6.4

Just kidding ;-) LS motors are like Tiger Wood's D#$&....they get stuck in everything. . I always wonder why us Chevy guys are so keen on sticking LS motors into everything else, but we go ape $#%t if someone wants to heart transplant into a Chevy, I say go for it.

Dodge just announced a new sale on all Hemi Motors.

They are giving away a Free Puppy Dog with every purchase.

So you will never have to walk home alone again.

Me, and my Chevy, It must be jinxed, or could have been one of those special units.

Every lifetime aftermarket part I have put on it has failed, at least once if not more. Now the motor, has 2 rebuilds on it and still pulling strong.

The Hellcat engine is a 6.2 not a 6.4. It's a completely different engine than the naturally aspirated 392 found in the non Hellcat SRT and Scat Pack cars. I have a 2015 Scat Pack and love the 6.4 engine. It makes a ton of torgue and runs great in a heavy car. The 392 doesn't do well with forced induction though, which is why they went a completely different route with the Hellcat motor.

Happened to my brother in laws at around 1500 miles. I believe it was a 2011 Ram 1500 Big Horn. Pretty truck though.

I'd rather see a newer hemi then yet another LS transplant. LS is a fine engine but they aren't the best engine ever built.

Good for you for doing what you want and not worrying what the haters say. I had to put up with a lot of that same thing with my Mazda swap. Any more pictures or details?

I happen to love the LS motors. I think the are great. But that doesn't mean this one isn't too. Heck ever the ferds got some killer packages recently.
I can't wait till next year the Cadillac is supposed to come out with a factory twin turbo setup. That's what I want to see in one.
But more power to whoever chooses to do whatever they want to do in "Their Truck".

Re: Hemi anyone? 6.1/ 6.4

I've installed a few Gen 3 Hemi's. None in a C-10 yet. Nice job.
Done some Ford's and GM big blocks and small blocks. Sometimes
I think I may be the only guy on here that's never done a LS install.

Re: Hemi anyone? 6.1/ 6.4

Agree with thnking this is pretty cool. Yeah the LS engines are excellent, but they in no way unique anymore...swaps are everywhere. In the end its just an engine, and can easily be removed at any time to reinstall a gm plowerplant if one chooses.
