Question for the steering column gurus

I'm working on converting a manual column to a floor shift style and have hit a snag. I have two columns one auto and one manual actually, whats the best way to remove the linkage levers?

Re: Question for the steering column gurus

One lever is part of the shift tube. You will need to remove the tube to get it out. You could just cut the lever/s off & there is a cover that goes over the opening. Then replace the hub with one that does not have a place for the shift lever. Most of the time the lower brg. is froze to the steering shaft. If you want to replace it you need to cut it off.

I figured I might have to cut them off but was wanting to see if there was another method. I'll have to look into that cover, didn't know there was one. As for the shift collar I have a floor shift collar off a C30. Thanks.
