Gap between the rocker and the bedside

Can any of you original paint guys tell me what the factory did with this gap between the rear of the rocker panel and the bottom of the bedside? Is it filled in with seam sealer or is it left open?

OR, maybe a better question is, what is the best thing to do here?

No filler, left as is. Gap should be approximately the same as rear door edge to B-pillar gap.

Re: Gap between the rocker and the bedside

mustardjimmy71, bouncytruck, cleszkie and hgs_notes... thank you all. That is exactly the information that I was looking for. Unfortunately for me, that seam on my truck is a gap that I can stick the end of my little finger into. It is what it is, I guess.

Thank you all, again, very much.

Re: Gap between the rocker and the bedside

I have owned/parted out about 30 of these blazers. I don't think the original GM assembly line produced a very consistent product....many weren't "perfect" from the factory. My quarter panel stuck out about a 1/4 inch past the edge of the rocker from the factory. I have seen others with big gaps like you are talking about. Are you trying to replace your rocker? I bought a set of repop rockers for my blazer, but ended up scraping them because the fit wasn't very good. I bought a set of NOS ones.....it was like they were actually made for the truck

Re: Gap between the rocker and the bedside

Here's pics of what I'm talking about. The rockers, inner rockers and bedsides have all been replaced. The right side rocker/bedside area is flush, but the left side sticks out about a 1/4".
