rust repair on a 1969 k5 blazer?

I need some help on replacing footwells on my 1969 k5 blazer. Do i cut the old one out? if so where would i cut it?

Got pics? Cut out as little of the original sheetmetal as you need to. Are you talking kick panels or floorboards? If you are talking floors then be careful of where they join as there are lips on them where they meet.
