Wow! I wonder how many red trucks there are in that 2nd photo. Looks to be at least a hundred....

What I always wonder when I see a photo like this is, how many of those are still around? Better yet, how many are owned by a current member of the forum??

Re: couple pics from the past

Kind of funny back then how "OK used cars" was a slogan, but today we see "certified pre-owned".

Re: couple pics from the past

Back in the day OK tires and OK used cars signs were everywhere. Certified used, pre owned and now pre loved cars are terms we hear. What'll they come up with next?

Looks like Tom Henry Chevy is still going strong in Bakerstown PA in basically the same location. Guess the color of choice for the Fleet Sales back then was red.

Re: couple pics from the past

I bought my first pickup, a '72 BBC SWB Highlander, from the OK Used Car lot at Sport Chevrolet in Silver Spring, MD in '73. I wish I could get a hold of one of the millions of signs they had. Mine was "gently used" as they might say today. Back then it was "do you want it or not kid?"

These are the style I remember most. They were on posts along the front of the lot

Is it ok (<get it?) to show other dealership pictures? In Northern VA suburbs of Washington, DC was Bob Peck Chevrolet with a very distinctly styled store front. Check out this article:

I'd take the El Camino but it isn't red. I wonder where people went to buy a car...or a pickup that wasn't red? That place is not far from my mom's place

Remember that place? That's neat that they "repurposed" the sign. How about Chevy Chase Chevyland with Chevyland letters being just like Disneyland? I think it had a 4 story glass front with a four-level showroom. I remember seeing that as a kid with Vettes and Super Sports filling the place. The picture below is after they filled the show windows in

I also remember, "Come and make the scene, with battlin' Burt Lustine". He had the performance stuff and the big parts dept
