Re: My "Mator" build

Okay gals and guys. after getting the truck outside and put back together, it is finally in my drive way. Looks a lot better and I am very pleased with the way it is turning out. Almost as proud as a new daddy.

Re: My "Mator" build

Look'n real good in the neighborhood!!!

Glad to hear that you have disc brakes on your mind. It's the only way to go!!!

Moser has been selling "C" clip axles for $260.00/pair, might still be at same price. A friend had a 5X5 pattern set made for his 68, same price. If you get their axles, make sure you have them install new studs (a little extra).

With the weather getting better, hopefully you can make some big progress!!!

Re: My "Mator" build

That color is very similar to the color my wife picked for her 72 Malibu convertible (Fire Red Metallic) and in the sun it really pops . I like your color a lot ,cant wait to see the rest of it .It was worth the wait too ,wasnt it ?

Re: My "Mator" build

I haven't posted these that I could find. But here are the pictures of the Walnut I am using for the bed wood. These are going to be a dark walnut stain with a high gloss finish.

Re: My "Mator" build

Still looking. Trying to figure out which bolt pattern to keep. Its hard to find nice 6 lug rims. Any options on 6 lug under 250 each? It seems like the ones I find are 400 -500 dollars.

Re: My "Mator" build

Your right on how nice it is getting, may have to add another T to Mator, cause it is really starting to Matter with how nice it is turning out.

Thanks guys. Yes 275/40/20 all around. When I brought it home my wife said it looked like Mator from cars. All beat up and rusty. She doesn't know the difference but started calling it Mator.. and it stuck, for now..
