Definitely..... To cut the rails negates the impact gained from the small amount of drop that results. Keep those bed rail caps intact. Killer job BTW.

You should get a pic of your Wingman, you, & your dad all by the truck to hang on the garage wall. It will mean a lot over the years.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Project blue affair

Build is looking great!

So, how did you like the install portion of the Long Shot front suspension? I looked at them at this past LST show and talked to the owner. Seems like a good product.

I too had a great helper, I have a pic of him "helping" do the brakes when he was about 18 months old. Now he is 19 and building his own stuff. Time flies...

Thanks man! I love my little helper!

The long shot stuff is good. I think Im one of the first to have the bolt on version for a 67-72. We had a few holes not align so I just gave him some new measurements and he sent out the new parts right away. He is just about done with the motor mounts. Ill keep you posted as it continues.

Re: Project blue affair

I drew some parts up on the computer and had the local steel company cut them out on the laser.

These will be my raised bed floor mounts.

you can kinda get the idea of what I'm planning on doing.

some 2x2 square will get welded in between the mounts and run to the side of the bed, both front and back. Then have some 1x3 connecting the front to the back.

Re: Project blue affair

Made some progress on the front bed mounts.

Also got the 3rd member and axles in the housing for mock up. Crazy how small a 13.4" rotor looks inside a 24'' wheel.
