Re: Old School Patina 67 SWB Build

I'm hoping to get to start on the truck around the holidays. Currently distracted by the vette, and need to get the GTX wrapped up.

I did get my sandblast cabinet working so that's a start!

Thanks Robbie.

Starting to clean up the interior to replace a few panels. Overall no worse than I expected it to be. I guess I also need to start a wanted parts post.

Re: Old School Patina 67 SWB Build

Got lucky and have a wife who buys car/truck parts for Christmas even without being asked!

Pic of the new parts, mostly just add on stuff for a long time in the future.

Luckily I'm off this week so should be updating with old drive train out soon.

Re: Old School Patina 67 SWB Build

Finally making progress at least into teardown. Still undecided on powertrain.

Also if anyone wants a stock piece off the engine let me know, no charge just cover shipping. Hate to pitch something usable.

My awesome wife even came out to help me remove the front clip!

I second that!!!
I like stock appearing pickups, maybe slightly modified.
If you deal in reman engines, I wonder if you can get a small block 400???

6 cyls do nothing for me. These old pickups are just sooo heavy, they need all the help they can get, just to have some pep, doesn't have to be an all out radical racer type engine!!!

Re: Old School Patina 67 SWB Build

Almost everything we do is late model. The oldest small block is the 87-95.

I am sitting on some aluminum big block heads which really pushes me that way. However next week I can bid on an ls3 long block from a test program that died. I love the LS, but prefer vintage look.

Stay tuned and thanks for the compliments.

Re: Old School Patina 67 SWB Build

Thanks guys.

Tommy I appreciate that, currently looking for a complete truck to disassemble for all my missing parts. Dash, wiring harness, and maybe the engine. If you see something cheap let me know.

Re: Old School Patina 67 SWB Build

Got the transmission out, and started removing all the grime from crossmember. Hope to power wash it tomorrow.

I put up a poll on what I should do next and would appreciate everyone's input.

Re: Old School Patina 67 SWB Build

Not a lot done today. Got the distraction put up for winter and front end clean up started. Poll results were right it's going to get all cleaned up and painted.

Luckily my wife is still all in on this build so she's helping wire wheel the frame!

Re: Old School Patina 67 SWB Build

Plans in place for an engine. 6.2L small block, 880 block, forged stroker crank, either GM fastburn or AFR heads!

Hoping to have it started this weekend and when complete I've got it lined up to be dyno run at work! Hoping for 420 at the crank.

4 speed manual.

Now I need help.

Who makes best midlength or shorty headers to run zbar?

Who makes nice front pulley setup including power steering?

Re: Old School Patina 67 SWB Build

New goodies starting to arrive. GM Performance 880 block, and bow tie cylinder heads. Also have a set of aluminum heads but not sure which I'll run. Clevite triarmor bearings, Manley rods, mahle pistons, and lunatic crank. Can't wait to start assembly after rotating assembly gets balanced!

Don't worry still cleaning the frame etc too.
