BTW, your truck rocks! My first truck was a '77 Scottsdale--sure brings back memories. . .
They welded the cover to the adapter ring shown below and made it all one piece.

No, but thanks to a very generous forum member I have the parts to make it that way.

Yeah I'm avoiding puddles as long as I can. I want it clean for the Longhorn Rod Run in Old Town Spring...

Once warmed up you just can't resist a few revs to listen to the mechanical music. I'm running a dual inlet, single outlet Flowmaster with the exhaust pipe going all the way back. This is a nice quiet combo the emits a very pleasent rumble at idle, and plenty of growl when revved a little.

did that line thats on your exhaust ever burn up? just noticed it hopefully not! truck is still my motivation. take care!

Good eye69face. The picture makes it look closer than what it really was. I did change that to a 45 degree fitting to move it away from the exhaust.

Your truck is super sweet!! I had a 79 Silverado at one time but it was nowhere near as nice as yours! I’m still working on my project and I know exactly what you’re taking about…Time….Money…..and frustration. Sometimes it seem like it will never end but I keep wrenching away so I can someday soon be cruising down the road. Anyway your truck is really super cool!!

Just be persistent. While I can't take credit for the work done on this truck, I can tell you from past experience that being "consistent" and "persistent" with your project pays off.

Make it a point to set small goals every week for your truck. Don't look at the big picture unless you break down the small jobs too. For every major hurdle in your project, there are 10+ small obstacles. Find one or two that you can do each week, and you will be amazed at how fast things will move along.

BTW- Thanks for the compliments. Your truck is going to be far superior when it's done....

We'll probably just hit it with some satin black and drop the motor in right? Ya that's the ticket. Ya know, we may as well strip all that old sealer off and sand this down, and fill this seam, and smooth these bumps and..... Uh guuuys, weren't we supposed to keep this simple. Yeah, yeah, simple that's what we are doing.
I love that part of it. It's so true.

This is such a beautiful truck. I didnt know if you had already posted on your suspension. It looks like you have an axle flip with blocks? It looks like the ride height I would like to go with.
