Places you hate to go out to eat

but do because of your SO or for whatever reason.
My wife loves "Mimi's" but it's just one place I do not find appealing.It just seems overpriced and there's not much on the menu that appeals to me,in fact after going there this am there's even less.They've changed their menu and dropped the Jambalya,one of the few things I cared for.There are few places to eat that I can't find something I like,but this is one.BTW I don't care much for anything French(Except fries) but their pastries and even those I don't care for from Mimi's.

So,post up where you go that you don't care for,who you go for and why you don't like it.

My favorite place to not go is- The Olive Garden. My wife loves it I've never had a meal there that I like. They can take their salad dressing and stick it !

When ever I travel for business to the North East (RI, and CT), my co workers who are local to the area always insist on going to the most bland "home style" restaurants in the area. Or the worst, they try to drag me to some joint that claims to be the best Mexican food.
I am always begging them to take me to the shore for some local sea foods, or to Providence Federal Hill area for some Italian foods. Nope... Always end up at some dive eating a burger with two dollar Gansett Tallboy beers

I actually enjoy the burger and cheap local beer, since the joints that serve them are pretty fun. Just that when you travel from SoCal to the North East, you kinda want to try all the stuff they tend to brag about.

Wife likes Applebee's here , I hate spending my money on the small portions .

When I'm on the road I try to get something I can't get at home .

Red Lobster. The only thing I like there is the cheddar biscuits.

i dont like the theme based chains/ red lobster olive garden longhorn steak house outback TGIF appelbees // pretty much hate fast food mcdonalds burger king wends etc for a meal only go if i m in dire need of a lo blood sugar event
i like small out of the way prinatly owned and run is what i prefer

I don't care for TGIF. The service is never great. The food isn't all that great and honestly the price for what you get isn't appealing. I don't like places that don't have good service. Our local McDonalds is one of those places were they never get the order right. We stopped going. I don't really care for any fast food to be honest. About the only time we eat fast food is when we are on the road and just need to stop. We usually eat at one place. They know us by name and bring our drinks, soda right to us without having to tell them. The people are friendly. Though it can get noisy. I also don't care for IHOP. Way over priced and the food is marginal. Fresh fruit is the only thing they don't screw up.

Local places I am not a big fan of.

Claim Jumper, the atmosphere is nice but their style of serving you a pile of food that would feed a small family actually disturbs me. There is only one item on their menu that I can order, and it's actually quite good and that is the meat loaf. So if I am dragged to that place, that is all I can order. Its the only item that I have seen that is of a reasonable portion.

Friday's, Applebee's, Mimmi's cafe, Marie Calenders, and others like those. The food is edible, but you know it was just nuked by some guy in the back looking at a picture of how the plate should look. All of them, the prices are too high for what you actually get.

There are a few independent coffee shop style places that people flock to for breakfast, which are nice to go for a meet up but the standard "clean" table ware is always gross to me. Bent silverware, and lipstick stains on the cups... nasty!

local chain Mexican joints.. I use to go to them all the time, but ever since I got food poisoning from the salsa bar at one of them. I tend to stay away from home style Mexican food chain places.

Wife & I rarely go to restaurants. Once in awhile we'll stop in at one of the few small local eateries. Occasionally hit up a fast food joint if we have to go to the city and need a quick lunch. Almost never Mcdonald's, though I do kinda like their fish sandwich. Nearly a year ago we both got food poisoning at Carl's Jr. (unbelievably bad, sickest we've ever been) and haven't been back there, probably never will either.

I just learned that Carrabba's doesn't exist in California...anyone know why?

That is one chain restuarant that I really enjoy going to...

O'Charley's is also now on my no like list ,our local one was just re modeled and is much worse than it was before .Never really went there much but someone gave us a gift card and we thought we would try them again ,lousy service and cold food ,never again.

That is one chain restuarant that I really enjoy going to...

Normally, I avoid chain restaurants, Carrabba's is one of my favorites. The one in Overland Park, KS is very well-run, which makes a bid difference.

There is a local group of Mexican restaurants in OKC and Tulsa called Ted's Escondido. worst version of bland white people mexican food ever know to man my wife, her mom and friends love it!
I fill up on tortillias and chips before the meal comes out so I dont have to choke anything else down

My wife went in to labor there with our 2nd child that may or may not help their case

i hate going to golden corral, the food is bland like retirement home food and i swear the steak still has marks from the jockey hitting it!!

btw my dad loves it, and if he wants to pay i will go!

I can never eat enough at golden coral. Way over priced and the food feels like and taste like is straight out the can. Plus the crowds too. By the time I get to the green beans I've done ate two platefuls in waiting. Lol.
