Re: turn signal malfunction

brake lamps have not worked since i bought this truck 5 years ago. when trying to to put a new fuse in at the fuse box it instantly pops. I checked the connector under the dash its plugged in nice and snug.

Re: turn signal malfunction

I'd test switch with a multimeter and make sure it's not shorted.

Re: turn signal malfunction

Brake lights use the same filaments as turn signals in the 1157 bulbs. They're also more important than turn signals so that's the place to start. The same flasher is used for both sides so it obviously isn't the flasher.
Time to get out the multimeter, wiring diagram and troubleshoot.
