Re: Were did you find you build sheet?

I've only found one complete build sheet, and that was in my '89 Grand Marquis, and even then, had I not looked, the vacuum cleaner would have taken most of it. My '83 and '81 trucks had no build sheet at all in the seats. My '73 Nova had a partial sheet under the carpet, like keith mentioned, sprayed over mostly with tar. The old '76 winter beater also had no build sheet anywhere front to back.

Re: Were did you find you build sheet?

Bottom of Seat springs 75 made in Canada missing most it faded out. It's pretty blank now.

Re: Were did you find you build sheet?

Found this while looking for something else.

It's kind of a re-hash of what we've already discussed here, but the information is presented in a bit different way:

Re: Were did you find you build sheet?

This is what I was looking for:

GM most technologically advanced vehicle (at the time, and perhaps still now) - still built with a piece of paper taped to the front of the car -

This happens to be the first 2013 model year Volt, in Detroit-Hamtramck.

Great info Keith. I'm so glad you are on this site to tell your story.

I wish I could have found my build sheet. Nothing was under the seat or carpet. I did find an interior bolt in mint condition under the carpet that the installer dropped and left. Maybe there is a build sheet behind the dash or behind the door panel. I have yet to check those locations. My gas tank is external. Nothing was on top of it but I'm glad I checked as the original fuel line was cracked.

Re: Were did you find you build sheet?

Thank you; I did answer all the questions you posted on my "Intro" thread, too.

I'm curious about this too! Mines a 1982 K10. I've seen a few on the inner fenders but mostly Pre-1980 trucks. In my glovebox, there is still a "Mark" of where i'd assume my Build sheet was.

"SPID Label". The adhesive label stuck to the inner fender or in the glovebox is the SPID.

It varied a little bit based on model year and final assembly location.

There were usually around 7 different assembly plants building squarebodies for any given model year.

Re: Were did you find you build sheet?

My old '98 Corvette had the build sheet in the frame rail. Only way to get it was to remove the nose.

Re: Were did you find you build sheet?

On the build sheet what does the routing number indicate? This is found on the bottom of this build sheet in box 120 with the value of VW.
