Thumbs down let me tell u a story

since i was gone from board this happened ah-hmmmm.....1 fine day i get off the cheese wagon(school bus) any walk around the bushes to get my ride home ( a hopped up golf cart) and there was my dad i said what are you doing here and said"have a good day?" i said yeah and then he said "well im bout to f@#k it up" pause " i wrecked your truck" bein 14 and too attached to the 67 I said couple awful words and we went down the drive way ( mmy drive is about a a 20-25 steep hill w/ 2 ditchs on both sides) i look off t the right and i see a trail (my stomach hits the ground and i sware i saw it sit there and thump) we walk back there and i look off to the right and see 2 trees w/ bark missing and at the bottom off both of the trees is big flakes of brown primer me well im speechless so we walk back and get on the golf cart and i asked him if he wa alright and he said "im a little shook up" my dad has nerve problems any way we ride down to the shop and there it sits the two front fenders are crunches "the front right fender is savagible" my dad says and we walk over and look at the other fender it was sank in about 8 inchs (it was not savagable) thankfully the grill and hood did not hit the trees cause at the moment i didnt have a extre 67-68 grill i asked my dad what had happened and he said that there where no brakes avalible cause the pedal went to the floor as far as infuries went the is still to this day a big scab under neath of my dads right ummmm ugh breast ( which think is really funny) from the steering wheel and a couple bumps on his head that night i jacked up the truck and pulled about 5 or 6 pine trees from under it as well as the big root stuck in my RF spring the truck sat out side for about a week and we replaced the drum, wheel cylinder, master cylinder, shoes, the rubber lines(those SOB are expensive) so i have new brakes in front but backs dont work
so we pulled the 96 in long brake line and look at it about 5 or 6 inches away from rear part is a hole the size of a pinky nail so we replace it hmmm w/ a 104 in long line(only length close enough) w/ a loop in the center tucked in the frame the brakes work fine now i'll replace the drum etc, when i put the posi unit in it

lessen learned??? yess the next car/truck i build while have good brakes before i put the motor in it "d@mned hot rodders" big motor no brakes

all i can really say is im glad it was dad instead of me cause i dont know what i would do and atleast we know what to do next time Jack

A lesson learned! It very easily could have been a lot worse. Seein' as how I put on a new master cylinder a couple weeks ago, I think I'll go check everything over, thanks for the reminder.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but if you don't want some guys complaining about your grammar, you'll need to do a couple of things:

1. Use punctuation. (periods, commas, apostraphes, etc.)
2. Use paragraphs. When you finish a thought, hit enter a couple of times and start another thought. The number of sentences in a paragraph will vary.
3. Spelling isn't too big of a deal. We'll be able to understand what you're trying to say. It's something to work on, but my dad is 55 and still can't spell very well.

Again, I'm not trying to be antagonistic. I'm just giving you a few pointers to be a better writer. The better you are at writing, the better you are at getting your point across to others.

And sorry to hear about your truck. That really sucks.

Sorry about your truck.

You guys are complaining about GRAMMAR to someone who's truck just got totaled? WTH is wrong with you guys?!

Sorry about the truck. I've been lucky, our 65 chevy lost it's brakes once. I was sitting in the driveway and checking the brake lights (I was doing the pedal and having someone else look at the lights). I pushed the pedal and there was a hissing noise and the pedal went to the floor. The rear brake line had blown a hole in itself. I was very lucky, it would have been bad to lose it on the road, especially because it was an all original truck with original paint and v8.

Of course a few months later (after replacing all of the brake lines) my dad went and sold it for $1650... now that's crazy, and another story... Good luck with the truck!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Man, when I was 14, I had the privilage to have to tell my dad I wrecked his truck!!! I still say it wasn't my fault. On a gravel road, the sun was in my eyes, i reached up to pull the visor down, and mom went nuts and grabbed the wheel!!

Bang Crash, ran over some small trees in the ditch. She thought we were going to have to walk home, mad as heck....I locked the hubs and drove out. It cost me $800 to get the thing fixed and when I was 14, that was alot of money, heck, it's alot of money now!!

I just hope I never have to come home from work and have one of my boys tell me he wrecked my truck, or the car.

Pushinpebbles, sorry to hear about your truck.

As for everyone that is worried about grammer, find a message board on the net where everyone uses 100% proper grammer. You won't find one. If you do, then maybe you should spend more time there. Their posts will be alot easier to read.
Who gives a F### if he uses proper grammer!

devinfife and ColinOpseth don't know how to use the shift key for caps in their post.
I think they should worry more about themselves instead of others. People come to this board to talk trucks, not grammer.

Dang that is hard to read.....lol

As long as everyone does their best, it’s no big deal.
After all, we are here to talk about trucks; right? <<<<----rhetorical question!

I don't think we need to get into "grammar thing" again.

devinfife,
If it wasn’t your intention to rub anyone the wrong way you should pick your words more carefully. Your typing is far from grammatically perfect as well.

I take offence to the "quit freaking out rednecks" part.
If you have such a problem with grammar that it will result to name calling, you always have the back button!!!!
