Rib eye looks medium rare which is good but the other stuff not so much.

I hope that that steak isn't pan-fried, you heathen. I'd eat a packaged salad, but if that tub is a macaroni thing, I wouldn't eat it unless I was starving.

But a chef salad with a medium steak is a beautiful thing.

That looks about like my college days fare. Ramen noodles, macaroni and cheese. So glad I married a good cook!

That's Velveeta. You don't know what you're missing.

Re: Am I basically a master chef

My bill of fare with a good grilled steak is a big baked potato (easy), asparagus spears roasted on a cookie sheet (easy), and mushrooms sliced up and sautéed in an iron skillet in butter, soy sauce, & wine (easy). Just let em simmer until the juice is nearly all gone and they're good to go!

Wifey likes!!!! And that usually means Daddy gets dessert of some kind.

I don't know about master chef, but you certainly make the grade for being a man. Any man who can't grille a steak ain't no man at all. I believe it's instinct. A man will also eat that steak no matter how well it came out. If it can be chewed it's good!

Re: Am I basically a master chef

velveeta is disgusting, yuk! matter of fact, the one single thing american I don't like is american cheese..

Is Velveeta Cheese Actually Cheese?

Quote:
The FDA noticed this in 2002, when it sent Kraft a warning letter asking the company to take “cheese spread” off its packaging and replace it with something a bit closer to the truth. While there are elements of real cheese in Velveeta – like, you know, milk – to call it actual cheese is a bit of a stretch. Which is why it is now labeled as a “Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product.” Say that five times fast.
as for that steak, this is more like it if you truly love the flavor!

Velveeta has.a lot of oil in it too. I used to like it when I was a kid but now it makes me wretch. The steak looks fantastic...enough to last a week.

Re: Am I basically a master chef

Things you won't ever find in our house- Velveeta, Spam and Miracle Whip. I now have a hunger for a nice juicy T-bone steak, though. I don't remember the last time I had one, though one of my sons grilled a tri-tip a week or so ago. Of course, there will be sauteed 'shrooms and probably broccoli cooked al dente. That's a good feed that everyone here likes.

My ex wife always wanted her steak well done. Overcooked in my opinion.

One time I was barbecuing and she kept telling me that her steak wasn't cooked enough.
3 times she gave it back to me saying that it was undercooked. So by the third time I'm getting pissed So I say. "Hey baby you want me to cook it more. I'll cook it more. Watch me". Then I proceeded to ruin a perfectly good steak by cooking it to where it looked like beef jerky. And was dry as a bone.

...And she still said it was undercooked.

My wife does that. Smothers her steak in A1. It's disappointing when you cook a perfect steak only to see it take a bath in A1.

Re: Am I basically a master chef

Im fine with Velveeta. Those giant steaks look great, no idea if there is a place around here that offers something like them.

The mention of broccoli and the whisky though would ruin a meal for me. I think my taste buds are part child and part man haha.

Same here. I always said Americans come up with the best stuff, except cheese. That stuff epitomizes processed food to the point it's more process than it is food. It's processed cheese food. You give me a steak sub it better have provolone on it or it ain't a steak & cheese and I want cheddar on that burger.
