Post BB swap

Are BB towers "necessary" for BB swaps? What is the offset for the BB towers? Are there any clearance problems when using the forward position? This is for a 2wd truck.
Thanks in Advance.

Go with the BB towers. They position the engine in the proper place. As said before, they were used for a reason. Plus, everything is original and that means all the accessories will fit properly.

True on the accesories. I once saw a 396 in a '72, and the front cross member (under the front of the motor) was chopped to clear the marmonic ballancer.
