Tilt wheel (trans am ?)

I know I'm asking alot of questions, but i gathered alot of parts this last summer, and didn't get ya'lls imput along the way.
I was given a tilt wheel out of a trans am, the kind I wanted,
with no shifter, I know that one out of a van is the choice, because some don't have a key switch, but I've never seen one without the shifter. I'm wondering if the trans am collum will fit, and if anyone has removed, and covered up the key switches in any other collums, and how they did it to make it smooth. w.i.p'68
