200r4 Shift Linkage ?
I just installed a 200r4 in place of a TH350 and am having issues hooking up the column **** linkage. Anybody out there who has done this swap have pictures of the shift linkage set-up? I'm trying to use all the stock components from the th350, maybe that's were I'm going wrong. I'd appreciate any advice.

If you cant get it to work, a Lokar ACA-1800 will work with a 200-4r

That is strange. Are you using the same brackets that were on hte truck when you removed the TH350? I have put in a 700r4 and had not problem. I see that the linkage is shifted to the center. The 224r isn't that much thinnner is it. Maybe a different bracket that bolts to the frame?

Picture #5 is really showing the problem. You can see that I've used a few nuts to "shim" the pivot bracket towards the center of the driveline to make it all work. I just really don't want to leave it this way if there is a better way to tackle the issue.

Looks to me like you may need to remake the bracket with the pin so it gets closer to the transmission. Either that or remake the part the bolts to the transmission to get it closer to the frame.

How long is the bracket in your #4 picture? I just looked at mine and think it my be longer? I'm talking about the part that's on the transmission & pivots on the pin.

I have a question about these "Pivot" brackets that mount to the frame, and maybe this will answer the problem he's having....
is there are difference in the brackets for a TH400 truck -vs.TH350 with regards to the pivot bracket that mounts to the chassis? I'm betting the one he has was originally for a TH400 being a wider transmission, not enough distance to close the gap on the 200 Metric trans.......correct me if I'm wrong....that's my guess.... I have the Lokar on my 700R4. I did have to make a slight bend in the rod. If all else fails, give it a shot.
It works well, was simple to install and looks good too.

I used the same linkage when I swapped from TH350 to 2004r so it should work. My old linkage was worn so I switched to the universal one from CPP and I works much better and is much quieter.

I had the same issue with my 200. I took the bellcrank off and dug up a steel spacer with a (3/8?) I.D. about 1" long. Temporally stuck a 3/8 bolt thru the hole with the spacer on the outside (sorry I don't have a picture). Ran a weld bead around the spacer and ,voila, worked like a charm! I'm thinking the 200 is a little more narrow than the 350/400 at that point. Whatever, mine has worked fine with no issues.
P.S., Speedway has a column indicated with the O/D shift pattern that is almost a direct bolt-on my '70 steering column.

I figured I'd get photos now rather than wait. They look a lot like dk's above. I'll only post the bracket end as the rod end looks the same as above: 1-2" of space length at the column connection.
