CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

Is this the way the proportion valve and brake lines are supposed to be on a 1968 C10? This is the only way I could get the brake lines to match up to the general area they are supposed to go. CPP has ZERO instructions on how to do it. I would ask them but it is the weekend and I would like to get this done this weekend.

Re: CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

Yours definitely looks cleaner than mine but it looks like the mechanic custom bent your lines. Mine has the CPP pre-bent conversion lines made for the 67-70 trucks which included a new bracket to mount the proportion valve sideways. You would think that CPP would include a simple little picture on a set of instructions but nothing. They have a bunch of tech articles and instructions on their website but nothing specific on the 67-70 trucks that show their pre-bent conversion lines being used.

Re: CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

The brakeline CPP uses is from InlineTube. Maybe you can find something on their website. Otherwise I think they look great. I remember mine coming with another bracket for the prop valve and the extra small lines for the MC. I eventually sold all my tubing and bought a roll to custom bend all my lines.

Re: CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

I think you got a left handed proportioning valve.

This is my CPP booster/master cylinder/proportioning valve mounted up on my 1972 GMC cab that sits on a 1969 C10 frame so I could finish up installing the Inline Tube stainless steel line kit I have.

Glad I found this thread because there's no way I would've believed it was suppose to fit like this.

Thumbs up Re: CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

Be ware off that cheap proportion valve. Mine blew out the front o ring after about 200 miles of driving. They are cheap and it's not needed for anything. I ended up getting a new one without the fitting. It's worked great.

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

I realize that this too late to help the OP but I was having the same problem and called CPP. They emailed me these pics. They match the lines I got but the proportioning valve looks different. I haven’t had a chance yet to try it out but I will add info when I actually try it.

Re: CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

I don't think it makes any difference if it's horizonal or vertical as long as the air is bled out of it. mine looks just like post 6 but the rear line from the mc to the prop. valve was never going to fit. I made up a new one. Seems to be a lot of variations in these parts.

Tony, I know this is an old thread but just wanted to thank you for taking the time to post these pictures. I ordered an Inline Tube set and I don't think I would have ever figured it out without your pictures... Beers to ya!

Re: CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

Just had to throw another THANK YOU! into this thread. I was pulling my non-existent hair out trying to figure out the inline tube kit and CPP booster/master/prop valve.

Mine is set up like post #6 out of the box but is going to have to be moved to make it fit correctly. I guess I'll have to modify the mounting bracket.

Re: CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

Reviving another old thread - I am in the process of upgrading to power disk brakes on my '69 and have this exact same setup from CPP and am having trouble getting the new lines installed (from Inline Tube). My question is, the front line is smaller than the rear line and I always was under the impression that the front of the master cylinder is for the front brakes. If so, shouldn't it have a larger line since they do the lions share of the work?

Smaller line, more pressure?

Re: CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

Can anyone confirm, for a C20 its the opposite routing? Rear of the MC goes to the front brakes, front of MC to rear brakes.

Re: CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

Reviving this thread once again...

So I've got the Inline tube Disc/Drum conversion kit, but it appears that whomever converted this truck to front discs...maybe left the original MC and Prop Valve. So which "CPP" kit are you guys using that have the prop valve under the MC...because that's what looks like I need for these lines to work. Like in the original post and Tony and Grumpy's posts. The setup in post #6 doesn't look like it will work with the lines I have. Because when I look on CPP website, the pic of the firewall mounted booster kit looks like post #6. (Could be a general photo...?)

Thanks in advance

Re: CPP disc brake conversion brake line routing

I wonder why they insist on crossing the lines...when you can mount it similar to the factory way?
This is how mine is plumbed, except that I made my own lines from the valve to the couplers...and of course the hydroboost

That's REAL nice A1971Blazer...We've contemplated going HyrdoBoost...but don't even close to have the need for it right now. Stock 307 currently.
