Question How low will this go?

I am not finished with my truck yet, but with the cab on and the motor and tranny in, the back and front are absolutely level...when I put my bed on, the back should drop down even more.....right? My question is, isn't the front going to be up higher, because the front sheet metal can't compare to what the bed weighs can it? I was supposed to have a 4/6 drop, but due to the placement of my rear coilovers, it is about 7 inches lower than stock....if I have to, would it kill the front springs to cut half a coil, if need be? I know they are new, but......you know

How long has th front springs been in, and how long has the load been on them? Coils like to take some time to settle. If they have just been installed, or just got the engine and tranny in there...give them some time before cutting the coils.
Cutting a 1/2 coil should be ok...it'll hurt your ride a little, but it won't mess anything up.

My engine and tranny have been in for several months.......The cab has only been on for about 1 month or so......

I think i would go ahead & assemeble the truck,so you have all the weight,then go from there. Its hard to tell on stance if some parts arent on. At that point, if you need to trim the coils,I dont think it would be a problem..........69 longhorn.

Did you rebuild the front suspension when you lowered the front? New bushings ect.?The reason I ask is because if you tighten the front suspension while it is still jacked up it will sometimes preload the suspension in a higher position than if it is put together lowered to the ground then tightened.This might be causing your front to set higher than the rear or the height you were trying for.I hope this makes sense to you.

I had wondered about that, but this one was tightened up while it was on the ground....I guess I had better just wait until I get the whole truck back together and se what it looks like.......Thanks for the help though
