Re: Tow Hook Question For The experts

Too much stuff posted a tow hook guide, I found it by using the search option for this site. The hooks he has pictured are curved different directions. Not sure, but I thought the only pair curved the same direction were the extreme bend.

Looks like you have a pair of RH (pass.) side 60-68's there. Interested, what are you wanting for them?

Re: Tow Hook Question For The experts

They came out originally one going one way the other going the other way. 72 only hooks go the same direction.

My set of 60-68 tow hooks bend in the same direction, too. I'll have to see which way they bend.

Re: Tow Hook Question For The experts

I have 2 "pairs" that bend the same way. I think some of the 2wd trucks that got a single hook may have all gotten the same one on the 69-72. Not sure if the older trucks got singles or not. It seems like any time you find a single hook, they always bend the same way. Like there was a surplus of one sided hooks. Any chance the part numbers are different? The older ones had a different number than the newer ones.

Re: Tow Hook Question For The experts

Looked last night and ours bend in the opposite direction of castiron9's. Wasn't there a thread at one time about the part # for tow hooks? I did a search, but I couldn't find it.

Re: Tow Hook Question For The experts

Part numbers for the early ones. 596369-70
Later ones.3663349-50
It looks like left or right got the same part number. I am sure that is the -70 or -50. This is the 60-68 style hook numbers.
Loosescrews, if you want to sell one or both, or trade one, let me know. Eric
