Max backspacing 71/72 C10

If anyone has any experience with the following I would greatly appreciate it before sending the wheels off to the paint shop.

I ordered a set of 15x8 wheel vintique 62 steelies for my 72 C. Backspacking is 4.25" and offset is -6mm. In a quick no tire fit the rear seem fine. However, the front look like it may be too tight when I get the tire on. I have a set of 275/60's that are on it all four corners with aluminum 3 7/8 backspacing with no issues. Truck is currently stock, but may get a set of 2.5" drop spindles.

I cant answer your question but as someone who has wheel vintique ralleys on my 70, I would advise to to have the rims checked for lateral runout before you mount them. They wont take them back if they have had a tire mounted. One of mine had a runout of 0.041" and shook my truck pretty bad at highway speed. I wouldnt accept more than 0.025" lateral runout.

Re: Max backspacing 71/72 C10

In case anyone else was wondering, the 4.25" backspacing on the standard 15x8 wheel vintique steelies fit with 275/60/15. It is currently stock height. The wheels balanced with no issues. I was concerned the tires might rub on the upper control arm. So far so good.
