I forgot to send posts but I looked them up and it was sent byTurk 72 Formerly Clos 69 it was located under 1972 Blazer Half Top I googled it and this message board comes up . I do not have the number to the guys who needed the bulkhead but I think the website with the top advertisment from mtp is who was looking. He was from Texas. I will check with my wife and see if she kept an e-mail adress since we sent a copy of this link to him.

Today is the day that I throw in the towel, or go back to page one!
It all stems from a 3/4" plastic shim that was left on one rear body mount under the bed...removed it and every body gap is now totally crap, from the front of the fenders, to the back of the doors(including windshield frame) I am so freaking disgusted with myself, and still can't believe I did it...I should change my name to PI$$ED! It's not the PO's fault, it's this PO's fault This might be the end of a very long thread

I'm really sorry to hear this, I feel for ya. Your thread has been a source of inspiration to keep myself going on my Jimmy. So, maybe this is self serving, but you gotta keep going, your almost there. In my case I new it was going to be a long haul from the start, I wanted my build to be for fun, for when I had time etc. Didn't want it to get in the way of family, work etc etc. Well here I am 8yrs later, still not driving it. Like most of the guys here, this is the first total restore/build I've done. My thinking from the beginning was to get a nice driver, not a show car. I wanted to do it low buck, not all out 40K show car. I new that since I'm learning along the way, if I mess up, oh well, I'll redo it til it's the best I can do. Ya, I share your frustrations, but we gotta keep going, in the end it will be more than worth it. Remember, anybody can buy one already finished, yeah they can enjoy driving it and getting comps for something they didn't do. But, for the few of us that build our own, it's the knowledge and skill we build along the way and the satisfaction of doing it ourselves, no one can take that away ever. Remember, it's the journey not the end that counts. So I say Jim, ' Git-R-Done'. After a few beers or something of course.

Thanks Guys for all the kind words of encouragement and support, but after this project if you don't hear from me, I'll be in Therapy, and/or abusing prescription drugs
I just don't get it, 2 days of measuring and checking, talking to Kurt on the phone, and I'm still no closer to finding the answer... When I tighten down on the rachet TIGHT, it comes pretty close to what I want, but the whole door sits a heavy 1/4" to high. I'm at the limit on my hinges, no more adjustment. I even cranked the crap outta body mounts to no avail Three choices on where the problem lies 1) PO mounted the w/s rake wrong 2) I screwed up and mounted the floors to high up...don't forget I had no rocker boxes, torsion boxes, or body mount box. All given up to the rust! So I'm leaning towards the answer being in 1 and 2 3) Repro door is wrong...I have nothing to gauge it against, since I threw out my old doors. I don't think the problem lies here, since the drivers door is so perfect 4) Hinges could be bent, but I did replace them with new used ones I hope I can entertain you a little longer, and PLEASE if you have any ideas or thoughts, as always post them up. None will be discounted, and all will be investigated PS...don't put PBR into your visors to free them up alittle, the chemical will eat the styrofoam and cardboard,thus rendering the whole visor useless Forgive my welds, nothing has been ground down yet

Another futile day! Stared and checked, measured and stared, accomplished nothing but killed 6 hours. Dismounted door and stared at opening, this is getting old fast! Either I bite the bullet and get the cutoff wheel out, or waste more time. It appears that if I pull the 'A' post straight down 1/2" - 1" it may work
Kurt, I wrote the dimensions down but not the location of where you took them from. This could be important info. for the referance board, could you please take the time to tell me again pics to follow...

. Plus you'll get tons more experience with filler, lol.... Why do ya think its takin' me so long to finish mine, haha. Ya gotta take a brake when it goes to crap. I don't see anything wrong that a few shims here and there won't fix. From the crazy dude in the movie Water Boy, "YOUCANDOIT!!!" Leave it sit for a few days, come back to it and you'll figure it out. I've been readin' since the beginning, I have total faith in ya.

Did you try putting the spacer back in? I know the body lines(via the mounts) on mine are all in play when I adjust them. That was the other reason I went with a roll bar, in order to pull the windshield in on one side and push out on the other as I couldn't get the dang mounts to line up the body lines.
Were you just taking the spacer out because? Seems like if the lines were good with it in, I'd have left it. Course, hindsight is 20/20. Don't give up! Get a bigger hammer!!

Jim, I've been reading your entire thread for the last several days and I sincerely hope you found the answer. your teaching has been of greatest value to a guy who in years past (25) enjoyed gettn dirty under the hood and body,and now in retirement back doin it again. your build thread is an inspiration to all.
