Control Arm Welding?

I Was Thinking About Either Bolting Or Welding a Few Tabs in The Coil Spring Pockets Where The Front Coil Springs Mount So They Dont Wobble Out.

Im Going With A 6 Inch Drop. Would This Help At All When i Take The Weight Off The Front End So They Dont Fall Out Or Not Worth The Work?

Re: Control Arm Welding?

You could put a limit strap on it to restrict the droop of the lower control arm. If you go with tabs, insure they do not hit anything when suspension is fully compressed.

Re: Control Arm Welding?

I wonder if one of these coil spring retainers from the rear of our trucks would fit inside the bottom of the front coil springs?

If that would work, you could just put a strap of steel with a hole drilled in the center to act as an anchor on the underside of the control arm. Once you tighten up the bolt, everything should stay in place.

Re: Control Arm Welding?

Shorter Shocks will do the trick. The first set of front shocks I installed were to long, allowing the springs to get loose when I lifted the truck. Put on the shorter ones and problem solved. I'm running 3 in. drop springs and 2 1/2 in. drop spindles. Hope this helps.
