New with a 71 GMC swb

We'll I bought this truck with the intention to spin it but.......I think I'm falling in love with it. I was thinking of selling it and putting the money into a 70 RS Z28 I have, but I'm considering keeping it. But I have a few questIons, what is the best way to lower this truck? I'm thinking 4-6 inches maybe?? Looks as if I would need to C-notch the frame? Who makes the best lowering kit? Looks as if the GMCs are more difficult to lower because of leaf springs?? Could anyone share some pics of what theirs looks like and what they have done. Trying to get an idea of cost as well. Thanks guys looking forward to the feed back.

Here's my rendition of the lowered and de-"bumped" rear shot of the '71:
