You know, I didn't see much metal at all and it didn't seem to have as much slack in it as my '90 10bolt but then I didn't have it up on a lift like Scott did with my other truck so it's hard to say. Maybe it had been flushed before but I did notice that the old lube seemed to be extremely thick. It was a little low too. Should have been more in it than what I got out but I didn't see any big leaks.

Re: And so it begins................

He sure did. We lined up the Cheyenne against it on a back road over here and the first time he sorta bogged down because he'd tried to hold the gas and the brake. The second go round, he dropped his arm and just let off the brake and stepped on the gas and that friggin' truck LAUNCHED. By 45 he had a truck length and a little change on me.

Re: And so it begins................

Ok, so I cleaned up as much as I could under the hood and now I'll have to pull what I can and break out the paint. Since I can't really get the engine block and heads as clean as they should be then I'll leave them until I pull the engine. I'll probaby do the valve covers, fender wells, maybe the bottom of the hood, breather, etc.

I also got the clips and stickies ground off the passenger's side and got all the emblems removed.

I'm not sure if I'm going to reuse the Sierra Grande emblems or sell them and get some new ones.

I also found that the right front fender has been repaired at some time and has some bondo on it that's cracking. I'll go ahead and sand what I can and shoot some sealer on it for now but I'll probably replace it before the final go around. I didn't get a pic of it though. Maybe tomorrow. I'm gonna go soak my weary bones in the hot tub!!

I figured he knew better but wasn't sure That thin stuff might make your truck feel quicker for a few miles. I'm sure my axle fluid desperately needs changing (noisy as heck) but someone rounded out the frakking fill bolt... I could drill the cover to use as a filll at school but don't care enough to do it
