Static lowering a '65 C10 longbed

I just picked up a '65 C10 longbed and it needs to be lowered. I know that I can get dropped spindles and custom springs for the front and lowering blocks and custom springs for the rear. I also know that I can bag it, but I just don't play that way. Air is for conditioning...
What I'm really wanting to know is, what springs can I use from other vehicles? I see where a lot of you guy's are lowering the back with Jeep coils, that gets about 3 to 3.5 inches right? How about up front? I read somewhere that S10/S15 front springs will work and net about the same, 3 to 3.5 inches. Anybody here know this for fact? I would like to hear from someone running this combo and pictures would be a big plus...
I also see that some of you are running cut coils, is it or isn't it giving you a rough ride?
Any other suggestions will be appreciated (pertaining to lowering my truck not pertaining to where to stick my head)!
Thanks...
