71 C10 smog canister

What are your thoughts on hooking up the charcoal smog canister. Pro's and cons. It seems like after I hooked it up to my 350 sb cammed, the idle was better. Any thoughts or is it my imagination?

Re: 71 C10 smog canister

Imaginary unless malfunctioning. The canister just holds fuel that has evaporated in the fuel and and carb bowl and prevents them from being lost to the atmosphere.

The system is designed to allow the vapors to be burned in the engine off idle (when cruising)
