Coolant leak?????
So I pulled off my starter to get to the plug behind it on my 03 LS motor and coolant started dripping????

Can you tell where it's coming from?...maybe freeze plug on head if it's up high

No the tranny is mated to it. It's wet inside the bell housing right at the bottom inside of the starter hole but not pooled.
Everything is dry behind the motor that I can see

could be the steam holes that are on end of heads...the rears are typically plugged with a bolt in piece, some use an o-ring and some a gasket, they will seep a bit and drop down in that area

I just looked at my 2012 6.2 LS I have on my engine stand and I can't see any place water can drip from the back of the block or head. I don't think the rear seal cover opens to any water openings but I could be wrong. I haven't had one off in ages.
On my L92 heads the rear steam holes are plugged with what looks like aluminum melted into the steam holes. No bolts. I would add some stop leak and see what happens. Hope it's not a head gasket. |

I just looked again and there is what looks like plug on the back of both heads that's about 3/4" in diameter. It sticks out maybe 1/16" from the head. Not like a typical soft plug but something that was done at the foundry as maybe casting vent? It has some type of sealant around the plug. And there is a similar plug on the back of the engine block on the upper right side but inside the bell housing.

there's no water plugs inside the bellhousing area on an LS.
some of the L92 heads yes have the steam holes permanently plugged on the rear...but an 03 LS engine would have them blocked with bolt on plugs. if that plug on the rear of passenger side head is weeping, it will drip right down on the starter area

both of my cylinder heads have a freeze plug right in the back of the head, 1" or 1 1/4".
