Re: shot some satin black today

I'm sure there you can clear it, but the satin black looks good all by itself, keep the pictures coming.

Re: shot some satin black today

In my experience with satin paints they will eventually fade & some will chalk up unless cleared, especially if parked outside in the sun. I did a buddies PT Cruiser that was two-tone satin black over satin orange. I initially had issues with the black and was told by Hot Rod Flatz that a flat clear over it would take care of the problem. So I cleared just the black but not the orange, because the orange turned out great like it was.

Fast forward some 4 to 5 years later, the orange faded pretty badly & chalked up in places, the black, with the flat clear, looks amazing. Looks just as good as it did the day after I shot it. The car was parked outside it's entire life in SoCal sunny weather. I'm sure others have had other experiences with different colors & different weather, but this was mine.

If it is something you want to look nice for many years, put a flat or satin clear over it to protect it, you will thank me later.
