length of throttle cable

I threw away my broken throttle cable on my 6.2 diesel project, and now I found out there is one shorter and one longer cable. Which one is it? I think it might be the longer kind??

PS. the engine is not in the engine bay either, otherwise it would been easier.
Also, the cable attaches to the bracket facing down from above and down on the injection pump.

Re: length of throttle cable

If you can get a measurement of the cable I will compare it to the cable on my Burb....my tape measure is at work right now or else I would measure mine for you.

Re: length of throttle cable

Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it.
I went to the GM dealer today and got the OEM part number of this discontinued cable-14038644 and then I searched the web and found out it is a cable (compatible to OEM) that several places sell and it measures 39".
I guess this must be the long one, if it fits? Will see...
