Saginaw 4 speed reverse light wiring questions

Hey everyone. So I recently got a 1970 c10 my dad restored. I found the reverse lights to be inop, with no connector on the backup switch on the 4 speed Saginaw trans. From the research I did, it seems as though the reverse switch for the 3 on the tree connects on the steering column. Well the connector is there, just dangling.

My question: do I just extend the green wires to the trans? If so, where would I get the connector/pigtail for this?

Thanks in advance. Any help is appreciated,, can't find anything on the interwebs about this.

Re: Saginaw 4 speed reverse light wiring questions

Update:

Up pin further inspection, was testing the switch on the trans and found that it looks like the connector would go on there. The tangs on the switch had been "adjusted" so I ust had to get them straight again.

Now it's off to the auto parts store to get some green wire to make the extension possible.

Where’s the switch on the transmission?
I’ve never seen one.
You got a pic?

Re: Saginaw 4 speed reverse light wiring questions

I suspect you are looking at the spark control switch that is in the side cover of later series Saginaw transmissions.

The reverse light switch screws into the back face of the side case near the reverse lever...see pic (the trans pictured has an aftermarket overdrive installed)
