Re: lets see some 3/4 tons!!

Here's my 71 Longhorn, 402/400. Supposedly the truck was brought new by Red Skelton a comedian from TV & movies. I'm still trying to verify. I found the build sheet and it was a SoCal truck so maybe...

Thanks,
Tony

Re: lets see some 3/4 tons!!

Picked this up earlier this year to use as my work/tow vehicle around the house. BB/TH400 with 1 ton axle upgrades and 4" lift. Been a great truck so far and only needs some minor things. Even did some off-roading with it after the rig I bought it to tow around crapped out on me on trail.

Re: lets see some 3/4 tons!!

Here is mine, been posted in a few other threads but seeing as how this thread fits it

1970 C20 Custom Camper. 350 V8 with 3 Spd Auto (Assuming it is the 350 currently, as everything aside from a few additions is stock.) 190k original miles.... I think I am the third owner? (I will know when I finish paying it off and get the title from my uncle)

Original paint, this truck has never been repainted and still runs like a top (It is my daily driver currently, yes the gas bill sucks, but I couldn't give a rats....... you know ) I intend on bagging it, not to drag frame or anything, but get a smoother ride and have a hopefully adjustable ride height (I want to drop it about 3 inches all around, get the same stance as MSHax up there) I also intend on swapping in a 700r4 and rebuilding/building up the 350 a bit.

Also, currently has the original black vinyl bench seat in it currently, but that will probably be going away when I can snag some black vinyl or leather buckets instead. (And I will be selling the bench seat too, so maybe someone will want to buy that..... yes I know, not a premium member but still)

The wheels are 17" chrome H2 Hummer wheels up to about 2007. The caps are Chevy caps from the aluminum wheels used on the HD trucks from 2001 to 2007. I modified the center portion to resemble the centers of the original hubcaps. Others on the forum have said the caps don't work on Dana axles without spacers. My axle is an Eaton and the caps fit fine.

Here are a couple better pictures.

Thanks AJ. I still like the steelies, too, and will keep them for potential show use. However, after 44 years of looking at them, I wanted a different look.

Re: lets see some 3/4 tons!!

This was my Dads truck that he took delivery of it new on 11/22/1966... I inherited it December 2004 when he passed away... When my Mother passed March 2011 We were loading this truck with all of my dads garage stuff had it parked in the garage loaded and it was stolen and stripped... 48 hours later I got a bare cab and rolling chassis back...

I started collecting parts to restore it back to a C-20 but my heart just was not into it so I had to make a decision... Sell it or make it "My" truck... so it has gone under the knife and is being made into a Short bed lowered truck...

First Pic is how it looked before it was stolen... Second pic is what I got back... Last pic is how it looks as of today...
