my $500 daily diver project

Well I figured I'd throw my old girl on here. 71 c10 Cheyenne. 350 3spd auto, factory a/c blah blah blah haha. Bought it for 500 bucks and almost felt bad handing the guy that little of money for the thing and drove her home! Everything but the a/c and cargo light worked as well. I've posted questions on issues I've had along the way but I figured I'd throw it in a build thread. The guy also threw in both new rockers and cab corners as well. Since I've gotten it I've put on 2.5" drop spindles and 3" drop springs up front, and 3" drop springs and 2" blocks in the rear. Plans are too eventually bag it but I've got to do other stuff before I can do that and have it work right so I'm doing what I can as I can till that a possibility! Hope you guys enjoy!!

I did a lot when I was younger, and have with d.w. I thought about it this year but work will dictate some of that. But I'd be down!

Figured since I found some of the progress pics I'd post them up. The engine being dirty is bugging me though with all the other stuff I've cleaned up and painted...

Re: my $500 daily diver project

Thanks! I'm doing things as the funds allow as I'm sure everybody can relate to. I'm kinda suck at the moment though, I have random parts for various projects on it but not enough to finish anything. Then I confirmed today my fear that my blazer tank is to tall and will hang to low unless I raise the bed floor and mount it higher, but with putting bags on it I'm not sure I want a metal tank hanging down anyhow... But I'll keep posting as I do things!

Re: my $500 daily diver project

I still have the chrome bumper, but I haven't put it back on for several reasons, I don't want to have to take it back off again when I go to fix the cab or pull the motor. I gave an old white bumper some thought though, just not sure which way I'd rather go, the chrome one has definetly seen better days.

Re: my $500 daily diver project

Just a small update, went to the swap meet in town today and picked up a set of valve covers. I like the old script covers. Gotta figure out pcv and breathers but I'll make them work! Best part was they only cost 10 bucks!!

Re: my $500 daily diver project

They are currently mounted on the kick panels. I plan on covering them in black vinyl material that I have but haven't done that yet. it seems to work good for now. I'd also like to get the dual in dash speaker at some point as well and put 6x9s behind the seats when I finally get the tank moved.
