Carb's gone!

Decided to finally change over to a TPI set up.

After wheeling down @ Rausch Creek in PA and having the carb stumble and die at the most inopportune time my decision was made.
(having fun climbing the steeps

)

Here's where I'm at...
Any input, fair warning kinda stuff is welcome.

Did that bolt right on - or did you have to wallow out the manifold bolts?

I know why your having trouble......you have the radiator hooked to your brake booster.

TPI is the best injection invented. My 86 vette had it and i loved it.

Nice to see I`m not the only one that takes the wheels off to get under the hood.The only thing I`d watch is having the filter right in the front and behind the fan in your application/use.Maybe a snorkle?Or,at least an elbow and run it to one side?
O/T:Ever think about hydro-boost?I have the stuff on an`86 6.2 Suburban.You`d just need brackets off any 350-powered 30-series.

Those straps (was wondering how soon I'd get called on 'em)(temporary fix)
Their there to keep the fire wall from flopping inward, yep to keep it from moving, after wheeling @ Rausch with the doors off it was about an 1.5" laid back and when the doors were reinstalled they wouldn't close. (hung down)

The rockers and torsion boxes are no longer there, so there's really nothing to keep the fire wall in place.
The full cage is tied into the frame, not the body and not the windshield frame but that's not talkin' TPI.

IGOR: Yes, this year manifold bolts on to the older heads without mods.

Bouncy: That'd be me.

SO much easier to work on now.

LUV: I'm just trying it out to see if I like it...

Special-K: I have duct work from a 94 LT1 Camaro for it with a K & N filter.

Really looking forward to getting it running/wheeling.

There ya go!I`d hate to see a wave of water sucked into that nasty nostril or dirt force-fed to the filter to put it to the test.
What`s your plan to stiffen,braces to the core support or maybe "trussing" the floor?I`d think the body and frame should "float".

You will definately like the TPI setup. The increase in torque and throttle response is amazing. Are you going to use a speed density setup or mass air flow?

This is a MAF system from a 1986 Corvette.

Speed density started in 1992.

Can't you use either a MAF or Speed Density setup no matter what year it is from?? Only need to change computer, wiring, & use MAP sensor instead of MAF...I believe anyways...

Any year of TPI setup can be converted to run as speed density. Each system has its advantages / disadvantages. There is no way I would even consider the idea of going back to a carburetor - it's starts perfectly when cold, idles great, has more power and even gets better fuel mileage.
