Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

Wonder if anyone can tell if this blue 1992 4wd ext cab step side truck could be a sport truck?
Was this an original GM option or is it just an aftermarket decal kit?
Sold the blue truck a couple months ago.
I now have the red 2wd 1992 which I believe is a real Sport Truck.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

That would be the first extend cab sport I have ever seen. I thought that it was a regular cab option only. Both trucks look good!

That extended cab was just an aftermarket/dealer/conversion sticker package.

Thanks, think I will keep the red truck, I really like it. Bought it in november, lifted the bed off and did some rust repair to the frame/bed and rear fenders. Put in an aftermarket stereo since the original didnīt work. Want to get a set of original chromed steel wheels and maybe lower it 2/4. Eventually give it a paint job.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

Check the SPID on the glovebox door, a real Sport truck will have a. "BYP " code

Re: Chevy Sport Truck '91 under 100,000 miles selling

Hi All, I am new to this site. I have been trying to find a Chevy Sport truck site for quite awhile. I am the one owner of this truck, '91 Sport. It has been garage kept and it has 92,975 orginial miles. ****************************.This truck is in excellent shape. I am going to try to add pictures, will see how that goes ..... I have added ground effects, the grill in the front is not the original, the tail lights are different, but I still have the original tail lights, I also had the truck cover and spoiler added, I was planning on having it more fitted and lowered (the spoiler that is), haven't got that done, but the trunk and spoiler can be removed. ***************

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

Bought a black 91 Sport back in October. So far, I've added a remanned master cylinder, new exhaust system, O-2 sensor, Accell distributor cap, rotor, plugs, wires and coil, Energy Suspension sway bar linkages and bushings. Have drop shackles waiting to be installed. It needs a lot of work to get it looking like new again. Cab corners and rockers are pretty rotted, paint is all jacked up by someone making a bad attempt at scratch repair with spray paint. It is also missing all the side moulding and side emblems. I would like to find these one day.

When I bought it

After I removed all the chrome body moulding off the grille

I have a request. Can someone post some upclose pics of the black and red door emblems? I've got an idea brewing.

Re: Chevy Sport Truck questions

6 years and still going, hell ya. So iv got another truck to add to this sport truck thread,1990 454ss. The sad part is it sat rotting in the middle of a field in Kansas for over 6 years, now I'm in the process of bringing her back to life. Iv added close up pic of the door badge but it's off the 90 SS, it looks to be the same as the sport but u be the judge.

Less is more in my opinion. I wouldn't put the ground effects, spoiler, or clear ricer tail lights on my truck, but to each his own. Nice to find a low mileage truck though, that thing should last a long time.
