Re: Well it’s started.

First nice day here. Actually got outside without a jacket today, and switched to leather boots this afternoon. There is a faint shade of green in the grass here and there.

I saddled my horse a did a few turns around the arena. Raked in the worst ruts in the driveway.

At this rate, I might start mowing in another month

Re: Well it’s started.

It rained here today off and on.

I had a kid (maybe 20) come by yesterday and asked if he could do yard work for me. He's worked for me before. So I said sure. The weeds were springing up all over my yard and my lazy butt doesn't want to pick them.
Then he tells me that he needs the money today (hard times) but he can't come back until tomorrow. I figure. Okay. He's always shown up. Or I just got ripped off. But I paid him.

Today it was pouring rain. And I'm thinking no way. But then guess who show's up on a bicycle and goes to work in the rain.

I told him to come back when the weather cleared. And he said no. That he promised to get it done today. And he would.

I have to say that I was impressed. Say what you want about the younger generation. This kid stuck by his word despite me telling him it wasn't necessary. At his age I would have run out of there like there was an angry daddy behind me with a shotgun.

He didn't ask for it. But I paid him extra. I knew he needed it. And integrity should be rewarded.

You can't judge a generation by one person and you can't judge a person by a generation.

Did he mention dreaming of moving to Arkansas?

The ability to speak several languages is an asset, but the ability to keep your mouth shut in any language is priceless.

Re: Well it’s started.

There I was swearing by mowing my lawn every month May through Oct., this year I broke the lawn mower out two weeks early. Climate change.
