G/f's gonna kill me

Found a 66 pantina burb for 1500 - sign said engine and brakes rebuilt.

Going to look more later tonight and see if I can poke it and what works and what doesnt. Wife has made me promise to keep no more than a year tho.

By wife, I mean serious g/f, not wife, bTW>

Re: G/f's gonna kill me

I rule at negotiations:

[12:34] Robin: 7 months from DoP [Date of Purchase]
[12:35] Robin: and you have to list it again
[12:35] chrislehr03: 9
[12:35] chrislehr03: honestly
[12:35] chrislehr03: gimme at least a solid year
[12:36] chrislehr03: how about this
[12:36] chrislehr03: if i get any ppl asking to buy it within said year
[12:36] chrislehr03: and the deal makes money, I have to take it.
[12:36] chrislehr03: the baby is still molly [my 70 c10]
[12:36] chrislehr03: this is just a side thing
[12:36] Robin: ok, but keep all your receipts from what you do to it so we know if you actually make money or not
[12:36] chrislehr03: and honestly, I might not even like it after I drive it or get to play/touch it
[12:37] Robin: ok, fine. one year but you keep all your receipts and if you get a good offer before then you take it.
[12:38] chrislehr03: done
[12:38] chrislehr03: offer over buy price + receipts
[12:38] Robin: ok

Those style burbs are awesome. I saw a real nice one at a car show last summer and loved it.

Why would your girlfriend (G/F) kill you if your wife said it was ok

Well, she's gonna be the wife eventually, but she's looking at this thinking "money that could go to a ring" I am sure.

Re: G/f's gonna kill me

You guys are killing me. I bought my truck from a guy my girlfriend knew and we ran into him randomly at HH one night, him and I got talking and he mentioned about his friend that needed to sell it. Looked at it, bought it, GF was happy that I was happy. Started spending more time fixing it then with the GF and she got jealous. Told her to get a hobby. Anyway, still have the truck and not the girlfriend. She was hot but a real PITA and to be honest, it was a good trade! And less expensive to boot!

Re: G/f's gonna kill me

It took me 4 years to build my truck... mainly just worked on it on weekends... I probably went through 6 girlfriends during the process because they could not understand why the truck was so much more important then they were.... So i sent them packing... You nag - You pack... Its simple! Lol.... I will be getting married soon too but this time I found one that likes cars and trucks.... This year I am going to let her make a few passes in my Nova at the track and She wants me to build her a first gen Camaro... It sure does make it easy to spend more time in the garage than the living room!!

Re: G/f's gonna kill me

Trucks last longer then relationships anyway, and besides the Burb would never get jealous if you wanted to take the C10 out.

Re: G/f's gonna kill me

"Here's to wives and girl friends, may they never meet". Ooops wrong thread.

My wife and I have an agreement. I like trucks, she likes jewelry so at Christmas I buy jewelry, she buys truck parts, on birthdays I buy smaller jewelry, she buys truck parts, on our anniversary I buy her a thingy and she buys truck parts. This way we both get what we want and it doesn't cost any more because I would have had to buy jewelry AND truck parts the other way.

Re: G/f's gonna kill me

It all comes from the same paycheck in my house so I'm buying the jewelry AND the truck parts either way. I can't complain though, I have plenty of toys and the wife doesn't hassle me too much.

Let's see, it's a '63 that was built in St. Louis, and I think is the 754th unit off the assembly line, not sure about that last part but I'm sure someone will correct me. By the way, if you buy it and decide to get rid of that grill I sure could use it on my '63 C10.
