Re: Doug thorley headers

Twisted, Shon is right on the 303Yc. I called Thorley direct on monday to check if that was the right no.. The sales rep told me that even though they are listed for 73 and up that they do fit our trucks.I have a 70 c-20 with factory bb and automatic.Bob

Re: Doug thorley headers

Update! The 303Y has about a 3" tube that sticks out the front of the passenger side header.I assume this would be for a heat riser going to the air cleaner.I'll be running an aftermarket air cleaner so I don't need this.I'm going to contact Thorley to see if they make the same header without this.FYI

Re: Doug thorley headers

I contacted Thorley today and I was right about that piece of tubing being for the heat riser for the air cleaner. They don't make one for my truck without it so I will live with it.Name: 600.53.300x200.THY-303Y.jpg

Re: Doug thorley headers

Just wanted to say this was a great deal. Ordered my set thinking I was getting the nickle coated one (being cheaper) and was quite surprised they were ceramic coated.

Saved about $125 off Summit's pricing. Thanks Shon!!!!

chevy_mike ... you think you could check a measurement for me. I'm looking for the size of point 'A' in the image below. Not sure if my Alan Grove alt bracket is going to clear.

Re: Doug thorley headers

Got some pics which I hope help. I am not sure how any bracket would even come close to this with they way they sweep back. Because of the style engine stand I am using, I can't get the headers to fit all the way down in the back. Let me know if you need something else.

Re: Doug thorley headers

Thanks Mike,
The bracket I'm using comes back and mounts to the left hole on both the 1st and 2nd tube. I just needed to see that the 1st tube dropped soon enough for clearance. I'll have to confirm it when I'm back at my truck on Monday. Looks like it will. Any chance of getting a measurement on the first tube from the header out, like "A" in the image I posted?
Thanks again,
Darren

Re: Doug thorley headers

I measured 4" from the head to the outside of the #1 tube. From the outer header flange to the outside of the #1 tube, 3 5/8"

Hope that helps.
